Final Thoughts
This brief has been a freeform term and felt like a breather year but a good experience , developing my skills and has helped me understand what I now need to do to assist me on career planning and where I will fit in the industry.
I feel I have produced a nice showreel that presents me in a personal professional way.
It shows my realisation of an idea, I am narrative driven, know how to breakdown a scene through layouts and my passion for character designer.
I do feel the look of some of my work could be slightly better quality but I think the way it has been presented and edited balances it out.
Finished Showreel
My Finished Showreel!
In my last post I stated that I wasn't sure on my showreel. I felt it needed something else, but I just couldn't think of what that thing was. So I had another look at it and found out that some scenes were missing from the animatic so I quickly put them back in. I then thought my whole showreel could do with some tweaking, so I added some more little video effects which I think are not too much and work. I wanted to do this so I could show that I also have some skill in editing.
Overall, I am pleased with my showreel and feel it represents me and shows my skills.

Showreel 03
This is my third attempt on my showreel. This is slightly more improved than the last two. Ive cut out a few things and put in some more of my work and added improved some video effects. I still feel like something is missing but once I found out what that is and put it in, I think my showreel will be finished!
Edited and composited on Premiere.

Title Card
I thought it would fun to design a title card for my piece. Since I am following the style of FOP , Hanna Barbera I would do my own title card like them.
Here are a few of my initial designs
This is my chosen design drawn up neat.
And here is the Final Title Card.
Animatic Part 1 & 2
This is the full animatic.
I am very pleased with how it has turned out. Both parts have fitted well. I feel it has a good pace and appealing.

Animatic Part2
Here is the second part of my animatic.
Unlike the first part of the animatic, I sort of knew how I wanted this to view edited and composed.

Animatic 02
After showing my lecturer and getting some feedback on my first animatic. We decided it needed some fading in and outs in scenes and some shots needed to hold a few more seconds. Plus, I added in some more drawings so it is almost an animation, slightly. Here is my second draft animatic.
Animatic 01
Here is my first rough animatic. This actually is the animatic for my old storyboard before I made my final new storyboard. But it gives you an idea how its gonna look and how the camera will move etc.
I edited and composited my animated on After Effects.

Storyboard 03

Finally, done my final draft storyboard. I feel the story makes a lot more sense and needed to be longer. I feel adding the 50 years later part is a great way to show that this repetition keeps happening and shows that even in 50 years these two are still living together and doing what their daily routine.

Layouts
Having a break from storyboarding and decided to design the final layouts for my piece. Not sure if these will be used but its just to give the viewer an idea what my scene would look like if it was completed and fully animated.
These are the initial final drawings which were then put into photoshop and developed and coloured.
Storyboard 02
After showing my first draft to one of my lecturers, my storyboard has a really nice opening but struggles to explain the relationship between my two characters. I need to show that these two characters are friends and live in this house together, so i decided to add in some drawings of the character cooking and both characters interacting with a hello gesture. I think this is much better than the first draft and explains the relationship a little bit better. But i feel something still needs adding...
Storyboard 01
And here is my first draft of the storyboard, I decided to use post it notes because there will be a lot of changes so this made the process easier.
Prop Designs
Theres not many props in my story but I thought it was a good idea to do some designs and show my skills not just in characters but also objects. Props are just as important as the characters.

Character Designs
I then came up with this character later on. I thought It would be fun to create a crocodile that he lives with and does the cooking, cleaning etc while he's out hunting.
Hes sensible, clever , tidy , good cook and likes to be in control of everything.
Here is a character sheet of a character i initially created with the crocodile hunter. He was meant to be his sidekick for him a bit like Mugsy for Rocky. He was a big, happy, strong but not so bright character.
